Epictellers Entertainment and Paizo announced turn-based RPG Starfinder: Afterlight. The title will release to Steam Early Access in 2026, with a Kickstarter campaign coming soon. The announcement came with a one-minute trailer viewable below.

Starfinder: Afterlight is set in the Starfinder tabletop RPG universe. It lets players assemble and lead a crew of misfits, each with their own stories and moral dilemmas. They venture into the Pact Worlds, discovering cosmic wonders and facing a threat that looms over the entire galaxy. The game’s turn-based combat borrows the rules of Starfinder TTRPG second edition as well as some of its classes. Players can form parties that include classes such as the Soldier, Envoy, Operative, Mystic, Solarian and Witchwarper, blending magic and technology. Starfinder: Afterlight is billed as featuring a branching narrative with hundreds of unique paths based on the player’s choices.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
