The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Details Zeiss Region
Nihon Falcom and GungHo Online Entertainment released new details and media for the upcoming The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. The new update covers the region of Zeiss, another of the locations in the kingdom of Liberl that protagonists Estelle and Joshua visit during their journey. It introduces some of the major characters and important places, as well as detailing the game’s notebook system.
Zeiss is the heart of Liberl’s orbment production, with its city filled with innovative technology. The giant Zeiss Central Factory lies beneath its streets and has some of the continent’s most advanced technologies. Its chief also acts as the city’s mayor. Also in the region is Elmo Village, which lies on the border with the Republic of Calvard. While small, it is renowned for its open-air baths and a large percentage of its populace have eastern origins. Meanwhile, Leiston Fortress is the headquarters of Liberl’s Royal Army, and is the only fortress not to fall during the Hundred-Day War with the Erebonian Empire ten years prior. Finally, Crimson Tower is a ruin thought to have been built around 1,200 years ago that has a colour true to its name, with artifacts made of fire septium found within.
One of the major characters in Zeiss is Professor Albert Russell. He is an eccentric orbal engineer whose creations have led to leaps in orbal technology, and is known for inventing orbal airships. He is one of the three disciples of Professor C. Epstein, the creator of orbal technology. Kilika Rouran is the receptionist at the Bracer Guild’s Zeiss branch. From the Republic of Calvard, she is known for her remarkable analytical skills and martial arts prowess. Major Maximillian Cid is the commanding officer at Leiston Fortress. He is known to exert great discipline and is highly regarded by his subordinates. Finally, Chief Gustav is the maintenance chief at Zeiss Central Factory. Known for his mechanic skills, he displays a hard-working personality but shows an easy-going side.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter continues the notebook system of other games in the series. It automatically documents a wide variety of information including quests, cooking recipes, and enemy details. As players find and progress quests, the notebook will provide details on its progress as well as major story events, with completed quests getting both a photo and notes written by Estelle. The cooking section lists out the various dishes that the party eats on their journey, and lets them create them using their own ingredients to provide party-wide effects. Meanwhile, any enemies defeated or stunned will have their information added to the notebook, letting players see their stats, weaknesses, and drops. Certain characters might even make new arrangements and versions for different effects. In addition, editions of the Liberl News or novels found during the game will be available to read in the notebook.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is the first game in the series taking place on the continent of Zemuria. It follows adopted siblings Estelle and Joshua as they set out to become Bracers, a group that acts to protect the safety of the world citizens. Acting as junior Bracers, they look to become full-fledged Bracers by taking on jobs across the Kingdom of Liberl. The game will release worldwide on September 19, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
