Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut Releasing on Switch 2
Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku Studio announced that Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut will be releasing on Nintendo Switch 2. The Director’s Cut version will release on the console at its launch on June 5, 2025. It will include new story cutscenes, a new “Red Light Raid” online multiplayer mode with 60 unlockable playable characters, and the addition of English and Chinese voice overs as well as French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese subtitles.
Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the long-running Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. The game is set in 1988 and follows younger versions of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima as they are caught in a turf war between warring yakuza clans. The game was initially released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2015, before coming to PlayStation 4 in both North America and Europe in January 2017. A PC version released in 2018, with an Xbox One release following in 2020.
