Moondrift Memory Kickstarter Campaign Underway

Streetlight Studio launched a Kickstarter campaign for Moondrift Memory: Prologue. In addition to the previously announced voice actor Sean Schemmel (Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Daima, Pokémon), the company revealed other voice actors that will lend their voices in the upcoming cRPG:

  • Dante Basco (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Star Wars: Rebels, The Legend of Korra)
  • Alejandra Reynoso (Castlevania, Pokemon Horizons: The Series, Winx Club)
  • Ify Nwadiwe (Um Actually, Critical Role)
  • Jon Matteson (Black Friday, The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals)
  • Tory Renee Hatcher (Table Runners, The Dice Decade)

The Youtuber Danny Motta will also be part of the cast. Meanwhile, writer Tan Shao Han (Pathfinder: Secrets of Magic, Pathfinder: Impossible Lands, Pathfinder Adventure Path: Let the Leaves Fall) will be joined on the writing staff by Michael Sayre, who worked on forty-six Pathfinder publications including A God Falls Where Magic Fails, Pathfinder: Chronicles of Legends, and Pathfinder: NPC Core. The game’s music will be composed by Inon Zur, known for his contributions to Dragon Age: Inquisition, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Baldur’s Gate II. The development staff will be led by executive producer Jessi Wills and creative director Brooke Eyler.

Moondrift Memory is a top-down isometric cRPG. Its first chapter sees the player leading a party of up to four characters that sets out to explore a dragon’s lair located in the harsh valley of Moondrift. Its combat, exploration, downtime, and social encounters are said to be similar to the core mechanics of Pathfinder Second Edition. The game will include a character builder that lets players create their own party members with options such as ancestry, background, class, feats, and abilities. The created characters can be exported as PDFs or Foundry JSON files to use in other Pathfinder experiences.

Moondrift Memory: Prologue‘s Kickstarter campaign is set to run until April 17, 2025, with a $300,000 funding goal. Those pledging at least $40 will receive a digital copy of the game, which is currently expected to release for PC in 2026.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
