Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 Launching Next Week
Capcom announced that its first post-launch major title update for Monster Hunter Wilds will release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on April 4, 2025. The developer provided details on the content of the update in its latest showcase presentation for the game, which can be viewed in full below.
The headlining monster for Title Update 1 is the leviathan Mizutsune, which uses immobilising bubbles. The mission to hunt Mizutsune is available from Kanya from Hunter Rank 21. Meanwhile, from Hunter Rank 41, Tempered Mizutsune will start appearing in the game’s environment overview. In addition, players above Hunter Rank 50 will be able to access event quest featuring Arch-tempered Rey Dau as well as a mission to hunt Zoh Shia again. All three monsters will come with new armour sets to forge.
Title Update 1 will also introduce Arena Quests, Challenge Quests, and Free Challenge Quests. Arena Quests and Challenge Quests can be done by up to two players using pre-determiend equipment, while Free Challenge Quests have no restriction on equipment and can be tackled by up to four players.
Another major addition in the update is the Grand Hub. This acts as a gathering space for hunters and includes new activities such as a Barrell Bowling mini-game, and the ability to observe traditions such as the Diva singing at night. The Grand Hub can be unlocked by talking to Tetsuzan in Suja after reaching Hunter Rank 16. This also relocates the Squad Information Counter from the Windward Plains to the Grand Hub to let players manage their squads more easily. The Grand Hub will act as the location for new celebration events. The first event will be the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, which runs from April 23 to May 7, 2025. These festivals will alter the meals in the Grand Hub as well as let players obtain limited-time equipment, gestures, and more, and see the return of previous Event Quests.
Finally, the update will a new free outfit for the player’s handler Alma, including the ability to change her glasses after completing a certain side quest. There will also be new free and paid cosmetic DLC available. An additional update is planned to follow in late May, which will include a collaboration with another Capcom title and a new gameplay function, with the second major title update planned to be revealed in summer.
Monster Hunter Wilds sees players joining the special Research Commission as it explores the Forbidden Lands and learns of the threat called the White Wraith, long thought extinct. In addition to including seamless transitions from story sequences into gameplay, the game adds new Seikret mounts, which can guide the riders to planned destinations and let them perform actions while riding, such as sharpening weapons and gathering materials, while also allowing players to swap to a secondary weapon without needing to return to base.
