Elusive Kickstarter Campaign Underway
Developer Chibig launched a Kickstarter campaign for Elusive. The title is an action adventure with Metroidvania elements whose exploration is said to blend 3D environments with 2D paths. The developer cites movies and video games such as The Secret World of Arrietty, It Takes Two, and The Plucky Squire as inspirations.
Elusive is set in a world where tiny creatures known as Elusives live in humans’ houses while hiding from them and borrowing whatever they need. The player assumes the role of Zoe, who operates as a Raider, an Elusive that seeks adventure and treasure. Following in her missing father’s footsteps, Zoe sets out to find the Witch’s Abode that houses many magical items and treasures, but also countless dangers.
As a Raider, Zoe is quick, acrobatic, and stealthy allowing her to conceal her presence from humans and predators including cats and ravens. She also also battles small, cursed creatures using her needle sword and is able to free them from the enchantment that turned them into monsters. Players can enhance Zoe’s acrobatic skills by crafting gears and tools with the resources gathered. They meet and befriend other Elusives through the game, gaining access to more features and quests.
Elusive‘s Kickstarter campaign is set to run until April 5, 2025, and already surpassed its funding goal of €40,000 (c. $43,327). Stretch goals include extra content and a special physical edition of the game. Those who pledge at least €24 (c. $26) will receive a digital copy of the game. Elusive is currently expected to release in 2027 for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
