Cabernet Now Set for Early 2025
Publisher Akupara Games and developer Party for Introverts announced a delay for horror visual novel RPG hybrid Cabernet. The game will now release in early 2025, having previously been planned to launch for PC on October 24, 2024. The delay does, however, come with news that the game will be releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in addition to PC. The full message regarding the delay can be read below.
Cabernet is set in 19th-century Eastern Europe and follows Liza, who has been pulled into the supernatural world after becoming a vampire. She lives in a stately home that is inhabited by both supernatural beings and humans. During the night, players are able to explore the town and get to know the local characters, all the while planning their next feast. Failing to return home before sunrise results in Liza’s death. Players will need to balance their hunger and morality, and can unlock various vampiric powers such as shifting into a bat, hypnotisation, and invisibility. A demo is currently available on Steam.
Hello, Little Bats,
The response to Cabernet since the Six One Indie Showcase on September 19th continues to amaze us and we’re thrilled that you’ve shown so much excitement and enthusiasm. You are the reason we’ve been pouring our hearts and souls into this game. Unfortunately, though, we’re going to have to ask you for a little more time than we originally anticipated to bring the game to its full release.
We’re sorry to announce that Cabernet will no longer launch on October 24th. Instead, we will be launching the game in early 2025.
We do, however, have some very exciting news to share: in addition to PC, Cabernet will be releasing on all major consoles.
For those of you eager to jump into this world of vampires in the Halloween season, we absolutely understand any disappointment. We always intended to pair the game’s haunting experience with this particular time of year, but even with the absolute best efforts and sleepless nights from our tiny team, game development is incredibly complex and sometimes decisions like this, as tough they are, are necessary. In the end, we want you, the players, to have the absolute best and fullest experience.
Over the next few months, we’ll be prioritizing polish and bug fixing to ensure that the game on day one meets the community’s expectations — as well as bringing Cabernet to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
Thanks you for all of your patience, support, and understandings. You’re truly the best.
