Fairy Tail 2 Shows Its Gameplay

As part of its participation in Tokyo Game Show 2024, Koei Tecmo revealed a new trailer and screenshots for the upcoming action RPG Fairy Tail 2. The two-and-a-half-minute video showcases the game’s battle system and its character progression.

Fairy Tail 2 is developed by Gust. It is a sequel to 2020 release Fairy Tail, though will feature an action-based battle system, as opposed to the turn-based gameplay of the first title. The game will retell the Alvarez Empire Arc from the original manga in addition to including the original “The Key to the Unknown” storyline.

Fairy Tail 2 is set to launch digitally for PC on December 11, 2024, while its PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch versions will be available both physically and digitally on December 13, 2024. Those interested in reading more about the game can check out RPGamer’s interview with producer Hiroshi Kataoka.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
