New Release Round-Up (July 25, 2024)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released this week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure is billed as a combination of stage-based puzzle game and visual novel. The game follows small-town misfit Jemma on her journey of self-discovery in a stagnant and static world. As Jemma moves, the world moves with her, with the game’s campaign planned to last around eight to ten hours.


Forgotten Mines

Tactical roguelite RPG Forgotten Mines sees players leading a team of dwarves against foes including goblins, orcs, skeletons, and demons as they seek to reclaim long-lost mines. The game features dynamically generated labyrinths, with players given a limited number of turns to complete each room within. Players build a roster of specialised fighters with different classes and equipment available. In between runs, players can upgrade their warriors’ equipment and abilities.


One Piece Odyssey

Platform: Nintendo Switch (previously released on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S)

One Piece Odyssey is a turn-based RPG based on the One Piece manga series’ with a story supervised by series creator Eiichiro Oda that sees the Straw Hat pirates finding themselves taken back to locations and story arcs from across the main One Piece series. The game features nine playable characters — Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, and Brook — voiced by its original Japanese anime voice cast. Parasight: Chlorophyll Worms

Parasight: Chlorophyll Worms is a surreal 2D action RPG. Players control a girl who wants to save herself from a dangerous biological virus. They explore cities on the Earth-like planet of Velasterham, utilising a variety of different weapons and items, and earning two different types of currencies for completing tasks or defeating foes.


The New Denpa Men

The New Denpa Men is a new entry in the Denpa Men AR RPG series, whose previous titles were released for Nintendo 3DS. The Denpa Men series sees players capturing small, otherwise invisible creatures that live in radio waves and leading them in an adventure. Alongside a main adventure, The New Denpa Men includes additional content such as island decorating, fishing, limited-time events, and multiplayer features.


Tokyo Xanadu eX+

Action RPG Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is an enhanced port of PlayStation Vita title Tokyo Xanadu. The game features a modern setting where players control a party of characters from Moriyama City as they deal with the threat from a mysterious shadow world called the Eclipse. Veritus

Action RPG Veritus is set in a fantasy world where players are tasked with exploring the castle of the god of shadows, Veritus. The game features 2D graphics and a top-down view reminiscent of the Game Boy Color titles. Players will have to fight the numerous enemies lurking in Veritus’ castle while solving puzzles and overcoming various obstacles thanks to equipment such as pickaxe, lasso, and a magical god-hand.


Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Purgatory

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Purgatory is set in the World of Darkness universe and combines visual novel and tabletop RPG elements. It puts players in the role of Samira, an Afghan werewolf refugee fleeing her motherland. The player is tasked with uncovering supernatural conspiracies and fighting a threat known as the Wyrm.
