Madou Monogatari: Fia and the Mysterious School’s Opening Movie Revealed

Publisher Compile Heart and developer Sting revealed Madou Monogatari: Fia and the Mysterious School‘s opening movie. The opening features the theme song “Asoventure”, which is performed by the J-pop group Kiminone.

Madou Monogatari: Fia and the Mysterious School is the latest entry in the Madou Monogatari dungeon-crawler franchise and follows Fia, a girl whose dream is to be a great sorcerer. She departs from her hometown to join the Ancient Magic School, a school of sorcery that her grandmother once attended. While Fia improves her proficiency in magic, she can explore the school, including the dungeon, whose structure changes every time Fia enters it. The young girl can also engage in school assignments and activities such as festivals, fishing competitions, and more. Familiar character Owlbear, which appeared in several Madou Monogatari titles, makes a return, while players can learn new skills via a skill tree system.

Madou Monogatari: Fia and the Mysterious School will launch in Japan on November 28, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. It will be available in two Deluxe Editions, one physical and one digital, that contain various bonuses. A western release of the game has yet to be announced.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
