Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Gets Final Letter from the Producer Preview

Square Enix held its 82nd Letter from the Producer presentation for MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. The latest presentation acts as a final preview for the game’s upcoming Dawntrail expansion, and is accompanied by the release of the expansion’s launch trailer, both of which can viewed below.

Hosted as usual by Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida with Global Community Producer Toshio Murouchi (and this time featuring English translations from Aimi Tokutake), the presentation covered some of the new locations and major characters as players visit the “new world” of Tural, a continent on the other side of the ocean known as the Indigo Deep. It also previewed new role quests, delivery quests, dungeons, and trials, as well as the expansion’s new raid series, the first part of which will be released two weeks after the expansion. Other areas covered include gathering and crafting job updates, plus various system adjustments.

Taking place after the events of Endwalker, and marking the start of a major new story arc for the game, Dawntrail sees the Warrior of Light’s help requested for Tural’s contested rite of succession. The expansion will add two new Jobs: melee DPS role Viper and ranged DPS role Pictomancer. The expansion will also include a new level cap of 100, new dungeons, new locations, new side content, and more. Further details about the expansion’s contents can be found in RPGamer’s coverage of the keynote presentations during the Las Vegas, London, and Tokyo Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fests. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will release for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on July 2, 2024, with early access available to pre-orders from June 28, 2024.
