New Release Round-Up (May 2, 2024)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.

Front Mission 2: Remake

Front Mission 2: Remake is a remake of Front Mission 2, which released for PlayStation in Japan in 1997, but did not receive an English release. The game is set during a conflict in the People’s Republic of Alordesh in an alternate future where mechs called wanzers are the primary tools of conflict. It also includes improved loading speeds and a refreshed soundtrack.

Loop Hero

Platform: iOS, Android (previously released on PC, Nintendo Switch)

Price: Free to download, $6.99 in-app purchase to unlock full game

Loop Hero is a retro-styled, card-based RPG where an evil lich has trapped the world in an endless loop. Players assemble a deck of cards and can place enemies, buildings, and terrain on the map to help keep the hero alive while also powering them up with smart placements. Those interested in learning more about the game can check out Zack Webster’s Deep Look of the PC version.

Touhou Mystia’s Izakaya

Platform: Nintendo Switch (previously released on PC, Mac)

Touhou Mystia’s Izakaya is a restaurant management sim with RPG elements, acting as another doujin (fan-made) spin-off for the Touhou bullet-hell series. The game sees players restoring Mystia’s run-down restaurant to its former glory, spending the day gathering ingredients and share recipes across familiar Touhou locations before taking care of customers at night.
