Banishers: Ghost of New Eden Trailer Breaks Down Gameplay

Focus Entertainment and Don’t Nod released a new gameplay trailer for Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. The four-minute video provides a breakdown of the action RPG, beginning with its setting: the fictional 17th-century North American region of New Eden. Beset by spirits, the settlers rely on Banishers such as Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith to assit and uncover the secrets behind them.

Choices and consequences work with the curse that plagues the land and causes Antea’s death, though she remains as a spirit. Red and Antea learn that Antea can be brought back to life by sacrificing those requiring their assistance, leading to choices that guide players towards different endings. Combat lets players switch freely between Red and Antea as well as between melee and ranged attacks. Players can pick up and upgrade new equipment for Red, while dodging and parrying will also play important roles. Red is most effective against undead enemies, filling his Banish gauge as he attacks foes, which lets him deal a special attack for extra damage. Meanwhile, Antea’s new form grants her access to new spectral abilities for both exploration and combat.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is set to release on February 13, 2024. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Special physical editions are available to pre-order.
