Golden Sun Arriving on Nintendo Switch Online Next Week

Nintendo announced that Game Boy Advance titles Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age will be available on the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service from January 16, 2024. Both games — developed by Camelot — will be available to subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership option.

Golden Sun originally released in North America in 2001. The game is set in the fantasy world of Weyard, which is governed by the four elements of Venus (earth), Mars (fire), Mercury (water), and Jupiter (wind). It follows Isaac and three fellow Adepts, those able to utilise the elements to wield magic, as they aim to prevent other Adepts Saturos and Menardi restoring alchemy to the world.

Golden Sun: The Lost Age is a direct sequel originally released in North America in 2003. It follows an alternate party of four Adepts led by Felix, a supporting character in the first game, during events immediately after. Both games feature turn-based combat, with exploration and dungeons that make heavy use of puzzle-solving elements. A third title, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, was released for Nintendo DS in 2010, and is set thirty years after events in The Lost Age.
