Visions of Mana Coming Next Year

Square Enix unveiled Visions of Mana, the first new mainline entry in the action RPG series in over fifteen years. Planned to release in 2024 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game follows Val, a soul guard assigned to protect his childhood friend as they set out to the Tree of Mana to rejuvenate the mana flow.

Visions of Mana will feature real-time 3D combat, with its announcement trailer showing snippets of gameplay and the world. The game will feature new designs from series Illustrator Airi Yoshioka as well as a musical score from composers Hiroki Kikuta, Tsuyoshi Sekito, and Ryo Yamazaki.

The Mana (aka Seiken Densetsu) series began in 1991 with the original Seiken Densetsu, which was released in North America as Final Fantasy Adventure and in Europe as Mystic Quest. The series received three other mainline titles sharing various recurring elements, creatures and themes — the PlayStation 2’s Dawn of Mana being the latest — as well as a number of spin-offs and remakes.
