Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 Features Metro System, Other Additions

CD Projekt RED announced the upcoming Update 2.1 major free patch for Cyberpunk 2077. The update will release this coming week on December 5, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S alongside the game’s Ultimate Edition release. The full half-hour livestream announcing the update can be viewed below.

Update 2.1 features a number of additions to the game. First is a city-wide NCART metro system, which will let players get around Night City in a more relaxed manner. Meanwhile, Radioport will let players listen to the in-game radio stations while outside of vehicles. There will also be new hangout options for players with their in-game romantic partner, with players able to invite them to V’s apartment.

Other additions include new chases, as well as replayable car races, which were only previously available as a set of single-play missions. There will be more vehicles with the Porsche 911 Cabriolet and new motorcycles, the latter also receiving upgraded handling and riding mechanics. Boss fights have also been improved — notably one major fight during its finale — with the update also include new technical improvements and accessibility features.

Cyberpunk 2077 is based on Mike Pondsmith and R. Talsorian Games’ Cyberpunk tabletop RPG and follows V, a player-created character in Night City who is left for dead after a failed heist and becomes entwined with the legendary figure Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves. The game recently received both a major Update 2.0 patch as well as the Phantom Liberty expansion.
