Starfield Animations Show the Settled Systems

Bethesda released three new animated videos for its upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield. The videos each provide a glimpse into a major city of the Settled Systems, the setting for the game. The Settled Systems is a pocket of colonised star systems in the Milky Way, extending around 50 light years from Earth.

The first video, Supra Et Ultra, is set in New Atlantis, the capital city of the United Colonies. It follows Kent, a courier pilot who wishes to join the Settled Systems’s elite and live in its most desirable areas, joining the UC Vanguard to achieve his goals. The second video, Where Hope Is Built, follows Vanna in Akila City. Orphaned by the Colony Wars, she is desperate to explore the stars and scours the city looking for parts to give her a working ship. The final video, The Hand that Feeds, follows street rats Ada and Harper in the “pleasure city” of Neon. Ada is forced into a moral dilemma, which gives her an opportunity from the powerful Ryujin Industries.

Starfield is planned to release on PC and Xbox Series X|S on September 6, 2023, and will be available as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. The game sees players controlling their own created character as they join Constellation, a group seeking rare artifacts around the galaxy to unlock some of its final mysteries. Players explore numerous planets and cities while upgrading and customising their own spaceship.
