Crimson Tactics: The Rise of the White Banner Available on Steam Early Access

Developer Black March Studio released its tactical RPG Crimson Tactics: The Rise of the White Banner on Steam Early Access. The initial Early Access version of the game, which bills Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre as inspirations, is available for $29.99 with a 20% launch discount. It initially includes roughly 15-25 hours of content from its story campaign, which is expected to run for around 50 hours when complete. The full game is expected to release some time in 2024.

Crimson Tactics: The Rise of the White Banner begins in the largely peaceful medieval fantasy kingdom of Wendalle, which breaks out into civil following a siege and the subsequent mistrust as its dukedoms compete for the throne. The game follows a small group of rebels in the dukedom of Swozalta fighting against the rule of the cruel and cunning Duke Arsenio Duran.

Crimson Tactics: The Rise of the White Banner promises tactical combat with challenging enemies that are both aggressive and adaptive, as well as a dynamic difficulty option that adjusts the challenge based on the player’s performances. The game’s party management options lets players change their party member’s classes, with previous abilities retained after changing classes, as well as their equipment. Combat also includes a mounting system featuring horses, dragons, and more.
