Atelier Marie Remake Gets New Screenshots, Digital Pre-Orders Open
Koei Tecmo and Gust released a new set of screenshots for Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg. The new images show multiple aspects of the game, including quests, gathering, combat, synthesis, and a variety of locations. Koei Tecmo also revealed that the game is now available to pre-order digitally ahead of its release for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on July 13, 2023.
Atelier Marie was originally released for PlayStation in Japan in 1997 — with versions later released on Sega Saturn, PC, Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Android, and iOS — and has not previously been released in English. The game follows Marlone (aka Marie), an alchemy student in the city of Salburg who is at risk of expulsion. She is given her own workshop and five years to prove herself.
The game’s remake will include new 3D graphics, an expanded tutorial with additional gameplay guidance, adjusted mini-game controls and balance adjustments. It also adds a new Unlimited Mode, which removes the game’s five-year graduation deadline, as well as more social events and new “Professor Ingrid’s Tasks” to act as a guide for what players should do next. A Digital Deluxe Edition also includes a full newly localised port of the earlier Atelier Marie Plus: The Alchemist of Salburg release, which includes additional content originally added in its Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 versions, plus costumes and a background music pack.
