Atelier Marie Remake Announced

Koei Tecmo and Gust announced Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg, a remake of the first title in the long-running Atelier series. The remake is planned to release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in summer 2023.

Atelier Marie was originally released for PlayStation in Japan in 1997 — with versions later released on Sega Saturn, PC, Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Android, and iOS — and has not previously been released in English. The game follows Marlone (aka Marie), an alchemy student in the city of Salburg who is at risk of expulsion. She is given her own workshop and five years to prove herself.

The game is the first of the series’ Salburg trilogy and was followed up by Atelier Elie: The Alchemist of Salburg 2 and Atelier Lilie: The Alchemist of Salburg 3, neither of which have also been released in English.
