Atelier Marie Remake Releasing in July

Koei Tecmo and Gust announced that Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg will release worldwide on July 13, 2023. The game will be available for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. It will be available as a digital-only release in the west, with a Digital Deluxe Edition to be available that includes all of the base game’s DLC as well as its additional “Atelier Marie Plus” content, an extra BGM pack, and the “Another Look” costume set.

Atelier Marie was originally released for PlayStation in Japan in 1997 — with versions later released on Sega Saturn, PC, Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Android, and iOS — and has not previously been released in English. The game follows Marlone (aka Marie), an alchemy student in the city of Salburg who is at risk of expulsion. She is given her own workshop and five years to prove herself. The “Atelier Marie Plus” content, originally added in its Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 versions, adds a new ending as well as more events and mini-games.

The game’s remake will include new 3D graphics, an expanded tutorial and gameplay guidance, adjusted mini-game controls and balance adjustments. It also adds a new Unlimited Mode, which removes the game’s five-year graduation deadline, as well as more social events and new “Professor Ingrid’s Tasks” to act as a guide for what players should do next.
