New Release Round-Up (December 22, 2022)
Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.
Alphadia Neo is a new entry in the Alphadia retro-styled RPG series. The game is set in a world where battles are breaking out over life energy and follows an amnesiac man who meets a princess whose kingdom has been destroyed. Each party members has three different combat styles that can be switched between.
“Card-battling MOBA-lite” RPG HEROish sees players building a deck of minions and abilities to take their chosen character across three available campaigns. There are six characters to choose from across its Imperial, Cursed, and Feral factions with their own play styles and abilities. The game includes cross-platform PvP for PC and consoles with 1v1 and 2v2 matches available. A Nintendo Switch is also planned to launch on January 2, 2023.
Mortal Shell is an action Souls-like RPG where players possess the bodies of fallen warriors, using their shells as they navigate and battle across a desolate world. Each shell has its own combat style, with new talents and upgrades becoming available as players connect more with them. The Switch version comes with the game’s The Virtuous Cycle and Rotten Autumn DLC included. Those looking to read more about Mortal Shell can check out Zack Webster’s review of its PC version.
