Kickstarter Check-In: Mahou Senshi Cosplay Club

Chroma Squad developer Behold Studios has begun a Kickstarter campaign for its new project Mahou Senshi Cosplay Club. The game is a turn-based RPG combining magical girl and cosplay elements in development for PC and “major consoles”, and planned to release in 2023.

Mahou Senshi Cosplay Club is set in the same world as Chroma Squad and sees magical girls get their powers from cosplaying. Players create their own costumes to fit with various conventions and events. Each costume has its own attributes and skills with which players can craft different strategies against their foes. There are over 40 types of Magical Goddess Pins that players can obtain to access new skills based on different goddesses from various cultures. The game will have dynamic side quests and NPCs to encourage replays, as well as crafting elements.

Behold Studios is looking for C$55,000 (c. $40,000) in funding, with the campaign set to run until October 25, 2022. Those who pledge at least C$30 (c. $22) will receive a digital copy of the game as part of their backer rewards.
