Kickstarter Check-In: A Frog’s Tale

Norman Company and Mythcarver Games have begun a Kickstarter campaign for pixel-art adventure RPG A Frog’s Tale. The campaign is to raise funding for continued development of the game’s demo, which is planned to allow the game to obtain further external funding for its full release. The game is in development for PC, with a Nintendo Switch version under consideration.

A Frog’s Tale follows Norman, a young frog from the village of Kero Pond. While investigating large bugs, he encounters a large cardinal that sweep him on a journey to collect the broken shards of an ancient artifact. The game features exploration with platforming sections and multiple rhythm elements, including in puzzles and its turn-based combat system. Its pixel-art graphics are designed to use the same vertical resolution as the Super Nintendo, with the horizontal resolution expanded to match the widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio.

The campaign has already passed its $60,000 funding goal, and is set to run until July 11, 2022. Those who pledge at least $28 will receive access to both the demo and a full copy of the game upon their release. It is currently planned to release in early 2023.
