Codename: Wandering Sword Announced

Chinese studio Xiameng Studio announced Codename: Wandering Sword, a RPG that utilizes a distinct 3D/2D art style and is set in ancient China. The game is set to release on PC and is available to wishlist on Steam, though no release date has been revealed. A teaser trailer can be viewed below.

Codename: Wandering Sword will follow the journey of a young man from Liao City who gets caught up in a feud and gets poisoned in the process. A sect leader of Wudang comes to save the man’s life, which also kickstarts his adventure. The game will have a battle system that is flexible for multiple play styles as it supports both turn-based and real-time combat. Most NPCs in the game have a friendship system where player’s can increase their affinity with these characters to possibly recruit them, gain new items, or collect martial-arts scrolls for new abilities. The choices the player makes will also affect the ending, as their are multiple paths with numerous side quests to explore.
