Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origins Introduces Lufenians; More Advanced Classes, Locations

Square Enix released new details and images for Team Ninja’s action RPG Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origins. The update introduces Marilith and the Lufenians, as well as three new classes and locations appearing in the game.

Marilith is the Fiend of Fire. She has six arms and uses them to unleash a barrage of attacks along with her quick movement. Other threats include her tail slam attacks and petrifying gaze. Meanwhile, the Lufenians are a mysterious group of people who Jack talks with when seeing glimpses of his memories. They appear to have a connection with the crystals that Jack and his allies carry with them.

The three new classes shown in the update are the advanced classes Dark Knight, Void Knight, and Ninja. The Dark Knight gets increased attack when at the brink of death. Its souleater action lets it sacrifice HP and MP to deal dark damage, and it is able to become the strongest class by sheer attack power. The Void Knight aims to intercept enemy magic and use its power. The unique runic action generates a magic circle that absorbs magic attacks and uses their power to replenish MP or unleash a slashing attack. Finally, the Ninja is a tactical-focused class. It uses the unique ninjutsu ability to use special tools to apply status effects without consuming MP. Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origins also includes special action abilities, which are used to deal significant damage to an enemy’s break gauge, while also depleting its maximum capacity.

In addition, the update reveals three new locations. Mount Gulg is a volcano filled with lava and exploding gas pockets. The Ancients’ Tower is a white building that is home to many traps and floating objects. Finally, the Wicked Arbor is a dense forest at the foot of Mount Gulg that contains lots of miasma, ivy walls, and poisonous plants.

Stanger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is a reimagining of the first title in the Final Fantasy series and follows the Warriors of Light, led by Jack, as they aim to restore the light to the crystals of the kingdom of Cornelia. The game is in development for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S and is set to be released physically and digitally on March 18, 2022.
