Forspoken Receives New Trailer, Details

Square Enix and Luminous Productions released a new trailer for action RPG Forspoken as part of today’s PlayStation Showcase. The video shows protagonist Frey’s life in New York City before she is transported to the world of Athia, where she learns she has mystical abilities. Frey is joined in Athia by Cuff, a magical sentient bracelet that helps her navigate the world. The video also introduces Tanta Sila, one of Athia’s most powerful rulers.

In addition to the trailer, Square Enix provided some details on the game’s cast and creative team. Frey was previously revealed as being portrayed by Ella Balinska, while Cuff is voiced by Jonathan Cake and Tanta Sila is voiced by Janina Gavankar. Keala Settle and Monica Barbaro will also appear as Frey’s allies Johedy and Auden. The game’s concept is conceived by Gary Whitta and developed by Amy Hennig, with Allison Rymer and Todd Stashwisk acting as lead writers. Forspoken’s music is composed by Bear McCreary and Garry Schyman.

Forspoken is being developed for PC and PlayStation 5. The game is set to launch in spring 2022.
