The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki Announced

Nihon Falcom has announced the latest entry in its The Legend of Heroes series. The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki is planned for launch in 2021, though platforms have not been announced.

Kuro no Kiseki takes place a year after the events of the previous title, Hajimari no Kiseki, and two years after the events of Trails of Cold Steel III and Trails of Cold Steel IV. It is set in the Erebonian Empire’s eastern neighbour the Calvard Republic, a multi-ethnic nation experiencing rapid economic growth.

The game will feature a new main cast, some of whom are shown in new screenshots and artwork, with the unnamed protagonist working as a Spriggan, a semi-mercenary role similar to that of Bracers. Kuro no Kiseki will feature a revamped version of the combat system from the Cold Steel subseries, with characters wielding new-generation “Xipha” devices instead of the ARCUS devices of previous games.
