Kickstarter Check-In: The Emperor’s Own

Developer Volga Studios has begun a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for its story-driven RPG The Emperor’s Own. The game is set in an alternate universe based on the early 19th-century Russian Empire. The Emperor’s Own is planned to be heavily choice-driven with a non-linear narrative. Players control Cornet Alexander Obolenskii, a young officer in the Slavomir Empire’s secret intelligence as it faces threats from wars and internal unrest.

Volga Studios is looking for $100,000 in funding by January 4, 2021. Those who pledge at least $30 will receive a digital copy of the game as part of their backer rewards (with a limited number of $25 versions of that reward also available at the time of writing). The Emperor’s Own is being developed for PC with an initial expected launch window of 2022. An alpha teaser is currently available to download via Steam.
