Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Gets Japanese Screenshots

Atlus released new Japanese screenshots for its upcoming Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster. The screenshots show an assortment of elements from the game, including major characters, combat, equipable Magatama that affect player stats, and demon negotiation and fusion. It also shows the new “Merciful” difficulty level that will be available as free DLC.

The original game was released for PlayStation 2 in North America as Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and in Europe as Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer’s Call. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo with the city turned into the Vortex World where cults and demons fight each other. Players control a young man who is turned into a demi-fiend and given demonic powers, recruiting demonic allies through negotiation. The remaster will launch in Japan for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on October 29, 2020, with North American and European releases following in spring 2021.

Looks like Raidou from Devil Summoner is replacing Dante in this remaster. Hopefully there are QoL adjustments as well, though the only one I can really think of would be selectable transfer skills vs the roulette. All that did was waste time.
