Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Gets New Gameplay Trailer, Screenshots

Bandai Namco released a new trailer and screenshots for the latest game in the Sword Art Online franchise, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. The two-minute video shows some of the game’s major features, including its action combat system, multiplayer, and character customisation. Bandai Namco is touting the game’s Tactical Learning AI System, where AI-controlled party members develop behaviour patterns based on the commands players give them. The publisher also revealed that Bercouli, Fizel, and Linel will be playable characters in the game and that its theme song will be performed by ReoNa.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is being developed by Aquria, which previously created Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment and Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization. Alicization Lycoris is loosely based on the main light novel and anime series’ “Alicization” story arc that takes place in the “Underworld”, a virtual world where AIs act like humans. The game is set to be released on May 22, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
