BioWare Announces Anthem Redesign

Casey Hudson announced that the developer has begun work on a long-term redesign of online action RPG Anthem. The planned length of time for the redesign was not announced, but it will include specific work on the core gameplay loop as well as challenges and progression. The current version of the game will continue to run and will receive events and revisitations of previous seasonal content.

Anthem is an online multiplayer action RPG set on a planet filled with advanced technological relics that use an energy source called the Anthem of Creation. These relics cause massive instability, changing weather patterns, opening portals, and unleashing monstrous creatures into the world. Players control mercenaries that take part in missions requiring them to venture outside of humanity’s fortified cities in exosuits called Javelins. The game was released worldwide for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 22, 2019.
