Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales started off as a single-player story campaign for the standalone release of Gwent: The Witcher Card Game before being changed to a separate release. The game is set before the trilogy of Witcher games and puts players in the role of Meve, queen of the Northern nations of Lyria and Rivia, as she deals with an invasion from the Nilfgaardian Empire. Thronebreaker features various management aspects as well as choices and consequences, with its combat system based on the Gwent card game. The game was released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2018. Those looking to read more about Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales can check out RPGamer’s review of the PC release.
