Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Pre-Orders, Official Site Opened

CD Projekt RED has begun pre-orders and unveiled the official website for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, its upcoming spin-off from the Witcher series and its Gwent card game. The game has a suggested retail price of $29.99/€25.89 and will be released for PC exclusively through GOG.com on October 23, 2018, before releasing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on December 4, 2018. Those who purchase the game on GOG.com, both before and after launch, will receive the following digital bonuses:

  • Official Thronebreaker soundtrack
  • Digital version of Gwent: Art of The Witcher Card Game art book, published by Dark Horse
  • Concept art, including the map of Lyria
  • The Witcher graphic novel Fox Children, published by Dark Horse
  • Two in-game Gwent player titles
  • Two in-game Gwent player avatars
  • Five premium kegs for Gwent

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales started off as a single-player story campaign for the standalone release of Gwent: The Witcher Card Game before being changed to a separate release. The game is set before the trilogy and puts players in the role of Meve, queen of the Northern nations of Lyria and Rivia, as she deals with an imminent invasion from the Nilfgaardian Empire. Thronebreaker features various management aspects as well as choices and consequences, with a combat system based on the Gwent card game.
