New Trailer Highlights Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore’s Combat

Ahead of its launch next week, Nintendo released a new English trailer for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore. The five-minute video provides an overview of the game’s combat system, which sees a party of three utilise spirits called Performa to fight back against creatures from another dimension. The game makes heavy use of physical and elemental damage types and weakness, with players encouraged to swap out their three active party members as the situation demands and utilise special combination attacks.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is a crossover between Nintendo’s Fire Emblem and Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei series. The game takes place in modern-day Tokyo with main protagonist Itsuki Aoi becoming involved with idol management company Fortuna Entertainment and numerous incidents arising from an energy called Performa and extradimensional beings called Mirages that are attracted to it. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will be released for Nintendo Switch on January 17, 2020.
