Mobius Final Fantasy Shutting Down in June

Square Enix has announced that its free-to-play RPG Mobius Final Fantasy will be ending service internationally on June 30, 2020. The closure will come after the conclusion of the Warrior of Despair story arc, with sales of Magicite to end on March 31, 2020, though any purchased Magicite will still be usable until the game ends service. The Japanese version of the game will end service on March 31, 2020.

Mobius Final Fantasy was released for iOS and Android in Japan in June 2015, with an international version launched in August 2016. A PC version was also released via Steam in 2017. Mobius Final Fantasy is a modern retelling of the original Final Fantasy that follows Wol, an amnesiac who awakens in the world of Palamecia. The game features a turn-based combat system as well as summoning and job systems.

And this is why I have no interest in mobile gaming. Imagine if Final Fantasy 7 stopped working a couple years after it was released.

It’s a retelling of the original Final Fantasy? The original Final Fantasy didn’t have much of a plot.
