The Game Festival Provides Steam Demos for 48 Hours

The Game Awards and Steam have announced The Game Festival, a 48-hour event where players can check out free demos of a number of titles. The demo period begins at 10am PST / 1pm EST today, December 12, 2019, and runs until the same time on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at which point the demos will be removed.

Three RPGs are included as part of the event: Nightdive Studios’ System Shock remake, Pixpil and Chucklefish’s Eastward, and The Game Bakers’ Haven. System Shock is a remake of the 1994 first-person horror adventure RPG, which was also remastered in 2015, set on a space station controlled by an AI. Eastward combines puzzle-solving, dungeon-crawling, and exploration as it tells the story of a dying world and a dwindling human population. Finally, Haven mixes real-time and turn-based elements as it follows a pair of lovers, Yu and Kay, who have escaped to a lost planet in their attempt to stay together.
