First Three Dragon Quest Games Heading to Switch in Japan, Dragon Quest Walk Dated

The Dragon Quest series received some new bits of news in Japan yesterday. Firstly, Nintendo and Square Enix revealed that Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest II, and Dragon Quest III will all be released digitally on Nintendo Switch. The releases will be the same versions that previously launched for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS and will be available on September 27, 2019, alongside the Nintendo Switch release of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age.

Meanwhile, Square Enix also announced that Dragon Quest Walk, its free-to-play smartphone title will be released in Japan on September 12, 2019, for iOS and Android. The game is a location-based game in a similar vein to Pokémon GO, with players walking around to find encounters and obtain quests from landmarks. Players will also be able to customise their own room.
