PlayStation Underground Checks Out The Outer Worlds

PlayStation Underground has released a 30-minute gameplay video for Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds. Hosts Tim and Kristen are joined by senior designer Brian Heins and producer Matthew Singh as they explore the town of Edgewater, which is run by the Spacer’s Choice company and the first town players come across in the game. The video shows off the game’s conversation system and branching dialogue, as well as the companion system and its combat system featuring “Tactical Time Dilation”.

The Outer Worlds is being co-directed by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, two of the original creators of Fallout, and is a first-person single-player sci-fi RPG. Players control a colonist who finds themselves involved in a conspiracy that may destroy the colony and must deal with various factions, making choices that will affect the outcome of the story. The game is being published by Take-Two subsidiary Private Division, and will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 25, 2019, with a Nintendo Switch version to follow on a currently-unannounced date.
