For the King Coming to Consoles in May

Curve Digital and Ironoak Games have announced that For the King will be released for consoles in May. The hybrid of board-game-esque strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements will be released digitally with a 20% launch discount for PlayStation 4 on May 7, 2019; Nintendo Switch on May 9, 2019; and Xbox One on May 10, 2019. In addition, Merge Games will be releasing a physical edition through its Signature Edition label for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on May 24, 2019. The standard physical edition will cost £29.99/$34.99/€34.99 on Nintendo Switch or £19.99/$29.99/€24.99 on PlayStation 4, while the Signature Edition will be priced at £39.99/$49.99/€49.99 on Nintendo Switch or £34.99/$44.99/€44.99 on PlayStation 4 and contain:

  • Full region-free game
  • Original soundtrack CD
  • Numbered certificate
  • Player guide
  • Shield keyring
  • Axe enamel pin
  • Chaos enamel pin

For the King was initially crowdfunded through Kickstarter in 2015 and released for PC in April 2018. Players are tasked with defending the kingdom of Fahrul after its king is murdered by an unknown attacker, and can choose to split their party in order to try and deal with multiple threats at once.
