Phantasy Star Out on Switch

The first Phantasy Star is now available on Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe. Launched under the Sega Ages brand and developed by studio M2, the game is available on the eShop for $7.99/£5.99/€6.99.

Phantasy Star was originally released in 1987 in Japan — 1988 in North America and Europe — for Sega Master System and has also been released for Sega Saturn, Game Boy Advance, and PlayStation 2. The game is set in the three-planet star system of Algol and follows Alis as she embarks on a journey of revenge after her brother, the leader of a rebellion, is killed by Algol’s ruler.

    That is a lot of money for a single classic title. I am feeling it should be <$5 US.

      This comment would make sense if it was something like $40… but for $8? Come on, that’s less than I spend on lunch every day, and this isn’t a just a ROM in an emulator; they added an auto-map, FM music, and some miscellaneous other improvements. This is definitely worth it.

  2. It would be nice to have a copy that sometimes crashes when saving.
