Phantasy Star Releasing on Switch in December

Sega has revealed the Nintendo Switch Sega Ages version of Phantasy Star will be released in North America and Europe on December 13, 2018. The release will include both the English and Japanese language versions of the game, and features some upgrades on the original release including an additional lower difficulty setting; a monster codex; lists for items such as spells, armor, and weapons; an auto-mapping feature for dungeons; and a music player.

Phantasy Star was originally released in 1987 in Japan — 1988 in North America and Europe — for Sega Master System and has also been released for Sega Saturn, Game Boy Advance, and PlayStation 2. The game is set in the three-planet star system of Algol and follows Alis as she embarks on a journey of revenge after her brother, the leader of a rebellion, is killed by Algol’s ruler.
