Underworld Ascendant Available Now
OtherSide Entertainment and 505 Games have officially released Underworld Ascendant, the long-awaited action RPG. A launch trailer was released alongside the game, giving a brief glimpse of the Stygian Abyss and its dangers. The game can be purchased through Steam for $29.99/£24.99/€29.99 with those who purchase before November 21, 2018, gaining access to three bonus items: Vorpa, a companion creature that will attack enemies at low health; Mana Leech, a companion that can refill the player’s mana when low; and a digital map of the Stygian Abyss to help navigation.
Considered to be a follow-up to the Ultima Underworld titles — though without the Ultima license — Underworld Ascendant is a real-time action RPG where players assume the role of The Ascendant, a person summoned to the Stygian Abyss to explore its labyrinthine tunnels. The ultimate goal is to defeat Typhon, a monstrous being that seeks to destroy both The Ascendant’s world and that of the Stygian Abyss.
I got this on Kickstarter, and played it for a night. I wish I could get my money back now. No, honestly… it’s bad. I’ll write more in an article, but stay away. Far away.
