The Hero of Deathtrap Dungeon Announced

Sentient Play has announced The Hero of Deathtrap Dungeon, a new RPG based on the old-school gamebooks of the 1980s. More specifically, the game is a sequel to Deathtrap Dungeon, the sixth gamebook from the Fighting Fantasy series, with the developer teaming up with its original creators Ian Livingstone and Iain McCaig. Sentient Play is currently crowdfunding the game through the Fig platform.

The Hero of Deathtrap Dungeon task players with conquering a deadly labyrinth within thirty days. Players will have to deal with various traps, monsters, and competitors as they advance through the dungeon map, making choices about which directions to go and actions to take.

Sentient Play is looking for $200k in funding for the game, which is being developed for PC and Mac. The developer is currently planning to release The Hero of Deathtrap Dungeon in late 2019.
