Ys VIII to Receive Post-Launch Updates on Switch

NIS America has announced that it will be releasing free updates in the period following Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana’s launch on Nintendo Switch next week.  Four updates have been revealed with the details and expected release dates as follows:

  • Patch 1.01 — Fixes include adjustment to Nintendo Switch auto-sleep function, incorrect icons displaying, and text refinements.
    Confirmed release — June 26, 2018
  • Patch 1.02 — Addressing crash issues, some aesthetic issues, and text refinements.
    Expected release — Launch week
  • Patch 1.03 — Text refinements.
    Expected release — Week after launch
  • Patch 1.04 — Japanese voice implementation and aesthetic refinements during cutscenes.
    Expected release — Mid-July 2018

The latest title in Nihon Falcom’s long-running action RPG series, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was initially released in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 2017, with an updated localisation released via patch in January 2018. A PC version version was released in April 2018 and, like the Switch version, features all the content from the PlayStation 4 version, plus the updated localisation. The Switch version is set to be released in North America on June 26, 2018, with the European release following on June 29, 2018.
