For the King Adds Competitive Multiplayer

IronOak Games has added a competitive multiplayer mode to its title For the King. The new mode, Gold Rush, was added as part of a free update and sees three players explore the cursed Midnight Woods. Players are tasked with being to first to deliver 100 gold to Lucky’s Vault but cannot directly fight each other and so must find other ways to hinder their opponents.

A hybrid of board-game-esque strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements, For the King was initially crowdfunded through Kickstarter in 2015 and released for PC in April 2018. A console release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch is planned in 2019. Those looking to read more about the game can check out a pre-release interview with developer Gordon Moran.
