Kena: Scars of Kosmora Releasing Next Year
Developer Ember Lab announced that its action adventure title Kena: Scars of Kosmora has been pushed back to next year. The game, a sequel to 2021’s Kena: Bridge of Spirits, will release for PC and PlayStation 5. The announcement comes alongside some additional story details.
Both games follow Kena, who before the events of Scars of Kosmora has spent years training as a Spirit Guide. Acting as a combination of warrior and healer, Spirit Guides fight back against the corruption caused when the dead aren’t able to move on peacefully. However, Kena now feels she is reaching the limits of her progress, with her childhood friend Orfio believing that the mysterious island of Kosmora holds answers for both of them and she sets out to meet him there.
Kosmora’s ancient Spirit Guides from four interconnected cultures have their own techniques involving the four elements and Alchemystic Temples. Each culture had a guiding Element, but a mysterious cataclysm destroyed one of them, with the elemental symbolism fading into the past. The temples will provide major dungeons that players will need to explore. In addition, Kena will need to learn more about Kosmora’s past and its impact on those living there. She will be able to get around with the help of a crystalline canine companion who also aids her in battle and with puzzles.
