Darkest Dungeon II Switch 2 Version Released

Red Hook Studios has released a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version for Darkest Dungeon II. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is available digitally for $42.98, or through a $2.99 Upgrade Pack for those who already own the Nintendo Switch version. It includes support for 1080p (handheld) and 1440p (TV mode) resolution, up to 60fps frame rate, fast driving and fast combat options, and Joy-Con 2 mouse control support.

A follow-up to 2016 turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon, Darkest Dungeon II released for PC in 2023, with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch versions following in 2024. The game sees players tasked with guiding a stagecoach expedition across a decaying landscape to try and avert the apocalypse. It features a refined version of the previous game’s combat with a new Token System. Each failed run grants resources that can be used on upgrades for future attempts. The game also includes an affinity system between party members, and players can learn more about their heroes’ backstories.
