Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets New Severing Fates Trailer

Capcom released a new trailer for action RPG Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The two-minute “Severing Fates” trailer highlights one of the real-world locations in the game: Yasui Konpiragu Shrine. Known as a sacred place that can grant wishes, in the game it is inhabited by a Genma called Rasho-gan, who twists its pilgrims’ desires and their body parts for himself.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the first new entry in the series in 20 years and is set to release for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4, 2026. Taking place in an alternate dark fantasy Japan where samurai battle against the supernatural, the game follows Miyamoto Musashi, who is armed with a mystical Oni Gauntlet and battles demons invading Edo-period Kyoto. Those looking to read more about the game can check out Jordan McClain’s impression from this year’s SGF Play Days event.
