SoulStream Saga: Chapter 1 Announced

After1mage 1nteractive announced its debut title SoulStream Saga: Chapter 1. The game is inspired by classic JRPGs and utilises an ATB-style battle system. The game is in development for PC and planned to be released through Steam, with a prologue demo set to be released at the end of this month.

SoulStream Saga: Chapter 1 is set in the kingdom of Alestria. A century prior to the game, the kingdom was in the midst of a brutal war as factions, mages, and alchemists vied for control. Former mage Astarius Valcrest left to study alchemy and returnedwielding Alchaeon, a blade infused with both magic and alchemy, that he used to unite the lands. While the kingdom stands in the present time, its king descends into madness, so Princess Victoria Lockewell casts a forbidden incantation to revive Astarius and save the kingdom.

The game uses a shared Active Time Battle system that is said to focus on timing, pressure, and smart decision making. Cast time and interrupts play important roles in combat alongside elemental weaknesses and resistances. The full game will include seven party members, with up to three active at once, and around forty hours of content.
